RENTAL PERIOD AND CHARGES
The rental period for the above property is €......... per night and is fully inclusive of electricity, bedding, towels and use of the swimming pool and other facilities for .... adults / .... children.
PAYMENTS AND CANCELLATION CHARGES
A deposit of 25% of the rental amount is required at the time of booking. The reservation will remain in force for 7 days from the day of your inquiry. If the deposit is not received, the booking dates will be released. The balance plus security deposit of €250, cleaning cost of €35 plus tourist tax will be required no later than 8 weeks prior to your stay. Bookings made less than 8 weeks from arrival date will require immediate payment in full. We will provide an invoice with a required payment schedule. If you have reason to cancel your booking prior to arrival, the following charges will apply;
More than 8 weeks’ notice of cancellation – deposit will be returned in full.
Cancellation within 4 - 8 weeks' of arrival date - 50% of holiday costs will be forfeited.
Cancellation within 4 weeks’ of arrival – all holiday costs will be forfeited.
The security deposit and any local taxes paid in advance will be refunded in full on all cancellations.
We strongly advise that comprehensive holiday insurance; including cancellation cover, loss of personal belongings and public liability etc., as these are not covered by the Owner’s insurance.
The Client agrees to be a considerate tenant and to take good care of the Property and to leave it as found, in a clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period. The Owner reserves the right to make retention from the security deposit to cover additional cleaning costs if the Client leaves the Property in an unacceptable condition. The Client also agrees not to act in any way which would cause disturbance to those residents in any neighbouring properties.
A €250 security deposit will be required from you when paying the final balance.
The refund of this security deposit will be made within 72 hours of your departure, once the property has been fully inspected after your stay. The security deposit will be returned to a bank and currency of your account. Transfers in currencies other than EUR will incur transaction charges of about €2. For a full refund, the following provisions must be met:
No damage is done to the property or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear.
No charges are incurred due to illegal activity, pets or collection of rents or services rendered during your stay.
All debris, rubbish and discards are removed and placed in rubbish bin at the local collection point.
All soiled dishes etc. are washed and cleaned.
The gite has been left locked and secure with the keys returned to the owner.
All charges accrued during your stay are paid in full prior to your departure.
No linens are lost or damaged
The renter is not evicted by the owner (or representative of the owner) or the local law enforcement.
The owner’s decision on reimbursements is final.
This booking is not transferable and any booking found to be made under false pretence will be subject to the forfeit of any advance payment, deposit and/or rental monies paid with the party not permitted to check in.
We kindly request that you arrive after 16 hrs on the first day of your holiday (unless prior agreement has been made) allowing us time to prepare your accommodation. We try and welcome all guests personally to ensure that you have all the information you require for a pleasant and enjoyable stay. To help us, please let us know at what time you expect to arrive.
DEPARTURE AND INSPECTION TIMES
An inspection of the property will need to be performed after your stay. If you wish to be present when this is done, please let us know or advise our representatives on your arrival to arrange this prior to your departure. The latest this can be done is 10am on the last day of your stay. If you are unable or do not wish to be present the inspection will be carried out after your departure. In the unlikely event of any damage or loss, you will be advised and your security deposit adjusted and returned accordingly.
BEDDING AND TOWELS
Bedding and towels are included for your stay. Please note there is no daily housekeeping service and daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest that you bring beach towels as we politely request that you do not remove towels or linens from the property during your stay.
PETS AND SMOKING POLICY
We have a no smoking policy at Mas de la Giralde. We ask that smokers do not smoke in any of the rooms, covered seating areas or the swimming pool area. In other areas, please dispose of cigarette ends in a clean and responsible manner.
Pets are not allowed.
PARKING AND GARDENS
There is free parking available for 2 cars at the front of the property. If you have a trailer, we have places where this can be stored during your stay.
We have large gardens and grounds which Clients are welcome to roam around. We are located in a rural area where dry stone walls are a local and natural feature. These walls are unprotected and so we ask that Clients are responsible for ensuring that children, and other vulnerable members of their party, are supervised appropriately.
The swimming pool is available from 1 May to 30 September each year and from 9 hrs to 21 hrs each day. Exact pool opening dates may be subject to weather conditions. We maintain the pool on a daily basis, but if you notice any changes in the water please let us know. A safety notice and pool usage rules can be found in the gite and by the pool.
No glass, bottles or china are to be taken or used in the pool area. If any should fall into the pool, it may be necessary for us to empty, clean and refill the pool which would take a week. the Client may lose your security deposit and more as a consequence
The Owners reserve the absolute right to close or restrict the hours of the swimming pool use for any period of time in circumstances which the owners believe in their absolute discretion to be necessary in the interests of health and safety.
The Owners are not held responsible for any loss or inconvenience that may be suffered as a consequence of any unforeseen breakdown in the pumping/filtration or any other equipment used in the pool.
USE OF ELECTRICAL AND BARBECUE EQUIPMENT
Should you experience any difficulties with the use of equipment in the gite please refer to operating details which for most items are contained in the gite manual. If that does not resolve the problem, please ask us directly. A Barbecue is supplied for your use. Please ensure that you use this in an area that is free from any potential fire hazard.
Please report without delay any problems or defects in the Property or breakdown in equipment, plant, machinery or appliances in the Property, and arrangements for repair and/or replacement will be made as soon as possible. Any problems or equipment found missing whilst in the property should be reported immediately as no reparation can be made after the end of the holiday period.
The mains water is safe to drink and hot water is supplied through heated tanks. Please be aware that the water can be very hot in the bathroom. Our sewage system is serviced by a septic tank. We appreciate your co-operation in using toilet paper and cleaning products that are suitable to use with septic tanks. We do provide toilet rolls and detergents etc. to cover your initial needs. The Septic system is very effective; however it will clog up if improper material is used. Please DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at any time. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog up the septic system, you may be charged damages of up to €200.
THE OWNER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO THE CLIENT:
For any temporary defects or stoppage in the supply of public or sanitary services to the Property, nor in respect of any equipment, plant, machinery or appliances in the Property, or garden for any loss, damage or injury or inconvenience which is the result of adverse weather conditions, riot, war, strikes, damage caused by previous occupants or other matters beyond the control of the Owner:
For any loss, damage or inconvenience caused to or suffered by the Client if the Property shall be destroyed or damaged and uninhabitable before the start of the rental period and in any such event, the Owner shall refund to the Client all sums previously paid in respect of the rental period.
Under no circumstances shall the Owner’s liability to the Client exceed the amount paid to the Owner for the rental period.
